Yuya Joe has just posted an article about the "fatal atraction" of our planetary mate Venus.

The main thing that's bugging me is the gap between 4400 BC and 1149 BC. It's the only one that deviates significantly from the 3,159 year period. The close of the Age of Taurus was particularly violent, and included the catastrophes of 3114 BC (start of the Mayan Calendar), 2450 BC (Mesopotamian meteorite strike), and 1680 BC (Iceland and/or Alaskan Volcanic eruptions). I have no idea why these events would alter the expected cycle (if indeed they did), but it is perhaps a clue to the mystery. We probably also can't rule out that the tree-ring and/or ice core dating is exaggerated during that time period for some reason.
