El-REB,

I think that historical evidence proves that Ramses II was the son of Seti I, and Seti I was the son of Ramses I (or general Pa-Ramses). According to the "stele of the year 400", Seti and Ramses were mayors of Zarw and Horemheb’s heirs. Rameses appears as the son of "the Lady of the House", and according to other texts, his father was called "general Sethi" who Charles, in a private email sent to me, identifies as vizier Ramosis of Amarna Age.

On the other hand, I think that the connection of Rameses and Seti with the city of Avaris (or Zaru/Pi-Ramses) and their interest in the God Seth becomes them as descendants of Hyksos. Maybe Charles has something more to say about this.

Salu2
