I will ask a question:

Does anyone really KNOW what the Greek word "logos" actually means in the gospel of John? Os their a scholarly consensus that is CONVINCING?

My limited experience is that it is a word that literally cannot be translated into English with one English word (pun intended).

Every time I hear some scholar talk about the meaning of "logos," I hear an entirely different definition. I believe I once heard a philosophy professor say that "logos" could mean "logical argument."

My question is: is there really any knowlege of what John meant when he used the word "logos," or is it all assumption (based mostly on MODERN Christian usage)?
