Solon, Solomon and peace

Mr. Pope,

My older sister had asked us, “What does em hotep mean?”

Answer = "Em hotep" (EM ho-TEP) actually has several meanings, but when used as a salutation or parting phrase, it means:

"In peace". An extended version -- "ii-wy em hotep" -- means "Welcome in peace!" and was one of the most popular greetings in Kemet. "Em hotep" is not to be confused with "Imhotep," "(he) comes in peace," the name of a famous Kemetic ancestor.

Next was, “What does Kemet mean?”

Answer = "Kemet" (keh-MET) is the term Egyptians used as the official name of their country. (Sometimes they also called it Ta-mery or "beloved land.") Kemet translates as "Black Land", in reference to the fertile black soil banks and not the color of the people.

In contrast, "deshret" is the term for the "Red Land" or the desert (a modern term derived from "deshret") that surrounds the fertile "kemet". By using the term Kemet instead of Egypt, one can refer to the country by the name its own people called it (Egypt is an English form of the Greek name for this land, Aegyptos, itself derived from Coptic hi(t)-ka(u)-ptah, "the house/temple of the ka of Ptah").

OK, she said so what does Solomon or Shlomo in Hebrew: שלמה mean; Standard Hebrew: Šəlomo; Tiberian Hebrew: Šəlōmōh, meaning "peace") in the Tanakh (Old Testament), is the third king of Israel (including Judah), builder of the temple in Jerusalem, renowned for his great wisdom and wealth and power, but also blamed for falling away from worshipping the Hebrew God only. He is the subject of many later legends (much like Akhenaten).

Next the word Shalom: The Hebrew word SHALOM is understood around the world to mean peace. But peace is only one small part of the meaning of the word SHALOM. In Israel, the word is used the word SHALOM on a daily basis. It is used to greet people with, and it is used to bid farewell to people. However, SHALOM means much more than peace, hello or goodbye.

Sar SHALOM (Prince of Peace) is one of the descriptive names the Bible uses to indicate the ministry and personality of the Messiah (Cyrus the Great, a very wise man): Isaiah 9:6 - The Son of God is completely perfect in all things.

Solomon's seal (Bot.), a perennial liliaceous plant of the genus Polygonatum, as having simple “erect or curving stems” rising from thick and knotted rootstocks, and with white or greenish nodding flowers. The commonest European species is Polygon-atum multiflorum.

Min was always a god of fertility and sexuality. He was shown as a human male with an erect penis (erect curving stem). In Egyptian times, he was usually an ithyphallic bearded mummiform man, standing with both legs together, an arm raised holding his symbol or a flail and wearing the same low crown with twin plumes as Amen. (The way he holds his flail might be symbolic of sexual intercourse - the flail forms the V while his upraised forearm seems to thrust inside the V.) The Egyptian paintings and reliefs on tomb walls and temples didn't show Min's other arm, but the statues of the god show him with his hand encircling the base of his penis. During New Kingdom times he was sometimes shown as a white bull, an animal sacred to the fertility god.

Amen is equal to Jupiter/Zeus and Hotep is equal to peace, therefore Amenhotep is much like Perseus/Apollo and Solomon. The only person who truly fits these cloths is Amenhotep IV aka Akhenaten. It was he who created “world peace” and not his father who appears to be a lazy fat man.

Japheth was the father of Madai (Media) and Javan (Greeks), yet was Kush (Cyrus) who was the first potentate.

"Men of Argos", We Persians believe that we are desended from Perses, whose father was Perseus the son of Danae and Zeus. The father of Cyrus, so runs the story, was Cambyses, a king of the Persians, and one of the Perseidae, who look to Perseus as the founder of their race. His mother, it is agreed, was Mandane, the daughter of Astyages, king of the Medes.
