Walter,
Thank you for making your excellent site known to us. There seems to be a wealth of material that you have posted there.
In the case of King Saul, I have adequately proven that his struggle with David was one between two Egyptian kings. Consistent with this, the events described in that struggle unfolded primarily in Egypt. See Chapters 9-13 of my on-line book. Therefore, the archaeology of Palestine does not in this case apply. It is the archaeology of Egypt that we should be looking at!
Many towns in Palestine were later renamed after places in Egypt through a process called toponym transfer. A more recent example of this is found in your own home state of Massachusetts. Many place names in the "New England" of America were named by immigrants after the places that they came from in England. I'm sure that you could also find examples where the relative position of these new American towns also reflect the geography of England.
As an example from the ancient world, the Shechem of the Biblical narratives was not the traditional site in Palestine, but Nekhen (Greek Hierokonpolis) in Upper Egypt. The Arabic name of this site is Kom el-Ahmar. If you recall in the Biblical narratives, the prince of Shechem was called Hamar. Nekhen was where the earliest kings of dynastic Egypt established their power. It became a traditional seat of kingship in Egypt. So, it is not surprising that later kings would seek to be coronated there. This is preserved in the Bible.
The first Exodus occurred at the end of the 12th Dynasty as proposed by David Rohl. The second Exodus was associated with the Exodus of Akhenaten as proposed by Ahmed Osman. The Biblical Exodus account is a composite of both as I explain in Chapters 8 & 16 of my book. The expulsion of the Hyksos from Egypt was an exodus of sorts. It was caused when Terah was deposed as king of Babylon and established a "New Kingdom" of the Patriarchal line in Egypt and Canaan. See Chapter 10 of my book.
My book is now much more than a collection of essays on limited topics such as the Hyksos, King Saul or the Exodus. It is presenting a complete model of the ancient world. Archaeology does NOT prove that the academic model of chronology is accurate. Archaeology in and of itself can scarcely prove anything. It is one tool and provides one perspective in reconstructing history. Archaeologists are perhaps the least equipped to interpret (synthesize) their own sources, because they stay within the vacuum of their own field. A multi-disipline approach to reconstructing the past is needed. My work is a synthesis of archaeology, critical analysis of Biblical texts, mythology, psychology, and among other things plain old common sense (with an strong emphasis on the latter). You will need to try to read my book with an open mind. If you will, then it should be clear that there is another way of interpreting the archaeological data. It is a way in which both archaeology and the Bible are vindicated, and the ancient world comes gloriously back to life.
