Hercules/Ham

I remember Mr. pope said that the god Horus the younger corresponds to Hercules..I was reading that there was really a soldier named Hercules in Greece, is this soldier named after the god hercules/horus the younger or is he infact the legend of Hercules and if so is this Khasekhemwy or someone else?
