In Response To: Re: Do you believe? (ManofYH)

At times I wonder if my research will do more harm than good. So it is a matter of faith to continue, a matter of believing that it is the right thing to do, that "truth" does somehow matter. It may not, but at this point in time I am assuming that it does. However, Yahweh is no longer real to me. Yahweh emerges as a devolution of the Egyptian god Amen. And Amen was originally a completely artificial synthesis of the pantheon. This means that the concept of a universal, supreme spirit was derived from a collection of flesh and blood beings who lived in one place and for a limited time. Nevertheless, the universe exists, so we continue to search for that universal theory of physics or of the divine.

The prophesy you mention in Zechariah is interesting. Was the prophet speaking of a neutron bomb, or some kind of fire weapon from the seige arsenal of his own time? If the prophet was speaking of Space Age technology, then it was a memory from the time of the gods being projected into the future. Again, the prevailing mentality of the prophets was "what is (and will be) has been before, there is nothing new under the sun." For now, I let Zecharia Sitchin speculate about alien interlopers. Life on Earth could be manipulated by more advanced beings elsewhere, but we can only guess at what technology is involved.

I should at least be able to provide a better historical context for Isaiah, Jeremiah and other Old Testament prophets. I cannot in all cases say what their historical names were, but can determine the historical royal persons that they were closely related to. This will be done in Part II of the book. At the moment, I'm finishing up a major revision of Part I. Part I will expand to 16 chapters. All existing chapters will be updated, and many new ones added, e.g., one devoted exclusively to Amen. Thank you for your perseverence in reading the material in its present state. The composition is very poor in places, but I hope to remedy this in the next version.
