Ken,
Thank you for the post. One of the insidious legacies of kingship is the pervasive guilt laid upon the common man. Misfortune was never the fault of the king. It had to be the faithlessness of the people.
I recently came across your excellent web site while researching the very subject of Sargon. I found the translation of the Sargon Legend very useful. In the next update of my book I will be revisiting his role. He turns out to be far more significant to Biblical history than I previously realized.
