Where do I start?

My family has used the fear of GOD to controle me my whole life. After reading Ahmed Osman's books, I have become obsessed with reading ancient Egyptian history books. I do not have the knowledge you guys posses, but I want to better understand it in relation to the Bible. I was told to believe the Bible was 100% historical fact by my family, but I never believed it. Now that I have read books like the Epic of Gilgamesh, and others, I believe the Bible is more like a story other than historical fact. Am I insane? I have expressed my views on this topic with my family, and now they are scared of me. Not to mention they think I am sick and a devil worshiper.

Anyway, my question is where do I start? I have read the following books, and feel that I am still lost when I read all of these conflicting theories of matching biblical charecters to real historical evidence. Can anybody suggest further or more current readings to help me better understand all the newest evidence that has emerged?

I disagree with the fear of GOD cast onto us from the organized religions, and am seeking freedom from it!
