Was it not Josephus who wrote "where the Nile falls into the sea?" "Fall", or "falling" seems to denote more than a delta region, at least to me? But, maybe it was Manetheo?

Can we ever imagine a period when the level of the Med. was so much lower than that of the Nile that it literally "fell into the sea?", or in our modern language it became a "water-fall?"

Therefore, "outside the box", is most likely the best answer?
