I've not visited Ahmed's website in awhile, so I'm not sure the context. The quotation is very general, so I'm also not sure what Ahmed had in mind. I wouldn't think there would be a strong association between Serapis and Gnosticism. We have had a limited discussion of both here. You can use the forum search function to locate relevant posts. King Tut was an "Osiris" and Osiris was a significant aspect of the Serapis cult. I can't think of an immediate connection between King Tut and Gnosticism other than that his tragic life may have inspired some groups (such as Rechabites) to abandon orthodoxy.
