Agamemron, no one has the passion for this stuff like you do! The difficult aspect of this work, if there is one, is in finding the simplicity. The number of roles and actors were always limited in any given generation.
Many of the new insights about the Iliad, Odyssey, and Aeneid are still valid within the conventional chronology and framework, but the full appreciation comes within the actual context. There is of course still room for improvement. Yet, it is amazing to me how the slavish adherence to an arbitrary standard reduces otherwise intelligent people to the level of imbeciles.
