Thanks for clarifying that Helge. Unless Suetonius did a volteface during the following dynasty (which we really can't totally rule out for political animals of any period), he could not have been one and the same as John of Patmos or a "prophet" sympathetic to Domition while Domitian yet lived. I readily admit my ignorance of Suetonius, but as you state, the idiosyncrasies of Domitian would have been well known during his lifetime and fair game for use by the author of Revelation in constructing the imagery.
