Hi Helge...I am mixing apples and origins again...Was using a late 4th millennia bce date for the early dynastic period and mid 2nd millennia for the 18th dynasty,
Went back to Charles' material re: the early dynastic period being timed to the eruption of Thera (1350 BCE) with the 18th dynasty only 700 years plus/minus from that date...
Anyhow....seems to me that "Israelites" and "non-Israelites" living in Egypt during the late 18th dynasty share a common ancestry...perhaps there is another basis for the differentiation other than lineage.
