That would be a bit of a problem trying to do a web search on the string "El". I tried combining it with "Charles Pope" to find instances on my site, but there are very few.
Perhaps El corresponded to the Mesopotamian god Anu (as I indicate in the first two book chapters) or a so-called "high god" like Zeus/Amun and therefore a composite of the leading deities.
In my model the god Enlil is identified as the son and successor of Patriarch Abel. The name Abel could be freely interpreted as Ab-El, that is "father (of) El". If that was literally the case, then El was the same as Enlil, which is how I show it in Chart 2 of the book:
