You obviously haven't followed the recent discussion on the Hasmonean period. Did it not hit you like a mud brick that the ruling family of the ancient world always claimed to be the most eminently pedigreed (pure) members of any and every population group. They were the leading Egyptians in Egypt, the leading Persians in Persia, etc., etc. Most if not all population groups claimed some great king or prince as their forefather, and so could every member of the current ruling house. What commoner or noble could then argue with their right to rule as a native Egyptian, Persian, etc., or afford to?
Does such an insight contradict anthropology or any other scientific discipline? If so, then those kids are the ones that need the spanking!
