Of course the Catholic Church destroyed many texts, as a parent controls what their child can see and do. Other texts simply disappeared because the papyrus they were written on decayed and no one saw fit to make a new copy. But, I suppose if the Church had most of the wealth, then they could also decide what texts were worthy of reduplication and which ones weren't.
I've ssen your posts over at the Caesar's Messiah forum. I think we are now going to get back to that subject here. I'd like to finish the chapter-by-chapter discussion of Joe's book, and then perhaps collect all the posts into a more organized form that Joe's group can benefit from.
Also, there's much more to say about Eisenman's "Jesus Brother of James".
