Lost Tribes and Bribes of Christ
In Response To: arcadia then... ()

Thanks Tim, but I'm changing whether I like it or not! It's comforting to me though to have someone who has followed the history of this site from the beginning.

Think you are right that there were no lost tribes in Herodian times. They were important to the Herodians in the business of ruling, and for that reason lovingly wooed back into the fold of Israel. I have also wondered why no army from the east came to the rescue of Jerusalem. Perhaps the Parthian and Indian overlords of the "lost tribes" were already paid off by the Romans. Perhaps the Herodian faction that sided with Rome aborted or hamstrung that aspect of the mission. Definitely an intriguing mystery. Look forward to hearing your ideas.
