What it Meant to be an Essene


Please read the following previous posts that deal with Essenes:

Herodians shared some values with Essenes, such as Patriarchal control, but as I urge in the above posts, it is time to perceive the Gospel figures as more than Essenes.

Laurence Gardner also makes much of death and resurrection as a metaphor for political disgrace and restoration. I agree that it was part of the royal culture and applied both to Lazarus and to Jesus.
