I respectfully disagree! If you were prepared and had the correct defensive measures available you may not have had to build defensive walls. But, no one can rely upon these facets of defense! There is and there has always been those who covet what you have! If you find a place where there were no defensive walls you have a place that was worth nothing! Or a place that was considered, during the time mentioned, as a place of refuge, or sacred, or protected by the gods!
