I think scholars pretty much dismissed the notion that the style of Amarna art has anything to do with homosexuality.
Now you may like this artistic style or dislike it but it's there; it seems to me to be the product of a highly sophisticated royal family not too concerned with the tenets of "socialist realism!".
In any case, there are stela showing Ahkenaten, his wife and his children. There are also statues of Ahkenaten that are not done in the Amarna style showing him to be a "regular" guy! See A. Osman's book Moses and Ahkenaten. Take a look at these pictures for yourself.
Finally, the bust of Mose..., I mean, Ahkenaten does not look like a horse to me - sorry. I can't help you there either.
