For those to whom the veracity of Velikovksy's ideas is a persisting question, this item that appeared today will be more than interesting and worthwhile. Several links are provided to comprehensive information compiled through more than three decades of study by specialists in several fields of research, including religious and mythic traditions.
I share this here not because the information is central to the story of the patriarchs, but because of the compelling context it suggests about basic questions such as the origin of the myth of Osiris. Especially important is the online book in-progress, "Thunderbolts of the Gods." Michael Goodspeed's essay is an engaging introduction.
