I've lately been pondering on the idea that Jesus Christ is also a metaphor for Julius Caesar and his exploits. There's interesting material out there to make this case. Jesus Christ being the Ascended Master version of the story of Julius Caesar and his political survival exploits. Then, the Book of Revelation perhaps being a poetic realization of the triumph of Augustus Caesar? It makes some sense once you've pondered on it a bit. Just as the Cult of Julius winds down, then the cult of Jesus continues.
