Interesting article featured today at The Daily Grail:
"... despite decades of comparisons between Meroitic words and the ancient and modern African languages of the region, no convincing resemblance has yet been detected."
Duh! Surely linguists have at least tried to widen the scope of their comparisons when studying these undeciphered languages, such as the Meroitic and Etruscan. Why compare Meroitic only to African languages when we know that Philistines, Libyans/Mittani, and other groups were resettled in Upper Egypt by the royal family at various times.
