You know, I'm not sure that using "concrete" would save that many man-hours.
Sometimes you need a real live engineer to sit down and "do the math."
Crushing that much rock by hand might take as long as moving the blocks.
Not claiming to know anything here, but this looks a little like it might end up being a case of robbing Peter to pay Marcion.
Has anyone (the guy from the 1980;s perhaps?) actually done some analysis to SHOW that using concrete WOULD save LOTS AND LOTS of time??????
